The photo is just incredibly evocative. You're leaving home, right? You bought the flowers, went home, got presentable, then started out to somebody's house with your present. It's total hope so far.
But then one notices the combination of roses and carnations and a smidgen of awkwardness appears. Making sure to cover all the bases? Presenting flowers to two people? Or did you buy the carnations first, then think, "You know, these could really make me look like a chump"?

How odd… I wasn't going for anything weird, the flowers were just on the car seat because it was warmer than the trunk.
